I find it easier to ask a stranger for help than my family and friends. It’s easier to take rejection from someone you don’t know than people you trust.

One of my life lessons has been to stand on my own two feet, be independent, rejection is hurtful. But

sometimes I need help and I need to allow people to help me or accept their honesty in not being able to help. Someone told me recently that refusing the offer of help is rejection and can shun someone’s good intentions. I’m working on it. Anyway travelling on your own involves the courage to ask/accept help. Airports and it’s transiting nations are not always polite but I had blessings with help with my bags and I honoured my tired self by getting a taxi and paying more rather than the train and struggling up a hill with suitcases. I’m learning my boundaries and vulnerability.
