Next to the manor house - Avebury Henge stands within a landscape of stone- Sarsen, a hard grey sandstone with quartz grains glittering in a silica matrix. There are outer circles and inner circles. This ancient place is at the centre of a world heritage site and is on the ley line I am following. It includes West Kennet long barrow, the avenue, the sanctuary, Silbury Hill and Windmill Hill. Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments. I walked around the circles of stone which although smaller than Stonehenge are impressive and on a wider scale. I did not feel energy by touching the stones but the overall feeling was positive and peaceful. It’s a great place to uplift your mood.
