Note to self - when my itinerary says 2 hours to next destination- add 2 hours. Being stuck on a motorway which is supposed to be quicker is not fun, especially when you need the toilet. When in dire need take the off ramp and readjust your trajectory later. Also GPS is never accurate- in the sense it doesn’t pull up to your destination and smile- it says you have reached your destination with no place visible just a road. Reminders on motorway not to hog middle lane. What happened to free will and people overtaking?
Lodged at new accommodation in Stretton and a 40 minutes walk to Cirencester in the rain. Well what can you do about it. I found another abbey site- Augustinian Abbey of St Mary which was founded in 1117 and destroyed in 1539 by order of dear 🙈Henry. Other fun facts about Cirencester is that it was the 2nd largest town in Roman Britain and they called it “Corinium Debunnorum”. It therefore had a protective Roman wall 6 m high with walkways and parapets. I touched it and could feel a beautiful intensity, a very strong energy. The energy wasn’t apparent though from a distance. There is also a huge Norman gateway arch. This town is full of history and is not far from the ley line I’m travelling.

Enjoyed the motorway story - and interesting Roman history in Cirencester. Thanks Scarlett.
