Newquay has welcomed me with open arms and a bottle of red.

I was out of sorts after Tintagel and was not grounded. I drowned in the rain and ruined a pair of shoes. I decided to rest and reflect. Today I ventured into town and felt my spirits lift. I walked on the beach and ate at Rick Steins restaurant. I indulged in a spiced rum hot chocolate and a caramel cheesecake. I feel grounded.
Being near the sea is my happy place. I have noticed though that the Atlantic Ocean is very different from the Pacific at home. It’s wilder and less personal (but we have just met) and reminds me of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I’ve enclosed a photo of an albatross- just kidding it’s a seagull, larger than ours in Oz and they have such a heart rendering sound. The sand is different too.
I feel so blessed to live near a beach and a lake at home. Water soothes and hydrates.
